Trips next week

A reminder that on Tuesday we are visiting the British Library for a workshop at the Harry Potter: A History of Magic exhibition.  The children will need a raincoat and packed lunch.  We’re expecting to be back in school by 4pm.

On Friday, we are taking part in an “inter-generational workshop” at the Dulwich Picture Gallery, run by artist Charlotte Cranidge, in which the children will work with older people to produce a piece of art inspired by the current exhibition of the work of Tove Jansson (novelist, painter, illustrator, comic strip writer and author of the brilliant Moomin books and comics).  I am told that the session is devised to encourage conversations and interactions between generations, with each person producing a piece of artwork to take home with them.  We’ll be back for lunch – so just a raincoat needed for this one.  (Disclosure:  I love Tove Jansson’s writing and must do more to get the children to read some of her work!)
